MASSAGE

It is an ancient form of therapy and has an incredible spectrum of modalities and techniques that are supported by personal competence and metta (Pali: mettā; Sanskrit: maitrī 'friendship'; English: loving kindness) for the benefit of the patient and the therapist.

Every touch affects the body, mind and soul. The more mindful this touch is, the more powerful the beneficial effect is on all levels.

Listing all the effects of a massage treatment on the holistic human system would be encyclopedic in scope. So here it is, briefly, easily understandable and with a wink:


Massage always helps somehow.

“Mindful” does not just mean “gentle” or “slow”, but much more – which you can read about in one of my (monthly) blog entries here .

Among other things, massage helps against muscular pain, it can balance imbalances and serves to promote physical and mental regeneration.

Skillful touching measurably changes the emotional world within us: a massage can brighten the mood, reduce stress and restore inner peace.

With a massage you treat yourself, you do something for yourself, for your own well-being.

When the body aches, the soul has already rung twice.

In my practice I arrange massages either for

  • muscular work,

  • to regulate the nervous system or

  • as a conscious interaction dedicated to change and recalibration.


Of course, the entire human system is always affected, but the focus, setting, structure and methods used vary.
